Gilded antique French rectangular mirror with engraved frame 89.5 x 67 cm, circa 1800.
This 19th-century gold-framed mirror is a striking example of refined French craftsmanship. Framed in original gold leaf with beautifully aged silver nitrate mirror, it offers a luminous, timeworn elegance that only history can impart. The coveted smaller scale and simple silhouette (89.5 x 67 cm, 35 ¼″ × 26 ½″) makes a graceful addition whether hung above a mantel, console, or in an entryway. Subtle imperfections in the glass and patina reflect its storied past, making it not just a mirror, but a singular piece of decorative art.
In good antique condition. Wear is consistent with age and use.
