Antique Swedish Dresser or Desk

A wonderfully versatile Swedish antique chest of drawers with a cleverly concealed writing desk, dating to circa 1890–1910. Crafted from pine and finished in a soft green, the piece opens to reveal a striking brick red writing interior with 12 small drawers and a lockable compartment.

The front of the upper drawer folds down to create a generous writing surface, while three large drawers below provide practical storage. Original brass knobs and handles, working locks and one key have been preserved, adding to the authentic character of the piece. Rounded corners and short, sturdy legs give the chest a pleasingly simple silhouette.

A beautiful combination of form and function, this piece could serve as a writing desk and storage chest in a living room, bedroom or home office.
