The frame is finished in poplar burl veneer over a structural wood base. Burl wood comes from abnormal growths in the tree, producing dramatic swirling grain patterns.These irregular patterns mean every piece looks slightly different, which is intentional and part of the design.

The backing panels use woven natural cane sheets. Cane is made from the outer skin of rattan and woven into open panels. It provides subtle texture. airflow and visual lightness, and a handcrafted look. The cane panels are inserted into the wood framework to create the shelving back and decorative structure.
