About Mantas Ezcaray

Founded in 1930 by Cecilio Valgañón, Mantas Ezcaray is a Spanish family business that crafts premium quality blankets, shawls, scarves, foulards and bags. Based in the town of Ezcaray in the northern region of La Rioja, the family workshop remains to this day the beating heart of the company. It’s in this town that master carders, shearers, dyers and weavers have worked since the 15th century, however Mantas Ezcaray is the only remaining manufacturer there today. Now, almost a century since the brand’s founding, Cecilio´s grandchildren have joined the firm with the aim of continuing the work of their parents and the dream of their grandfather. Using mohair, cashmere, alpaca and wool, the brand employs age-old techniques to create their luxuriously soft blankets and scarves, which (with the right amount of care), will last a lifetime
