Flanked by the Han River to the north and Baishi Lake to the south, the region has been creating earthenware for centuries for the storage of common goods. The Makou Ginger Jar was used more often to hold salt than its namesake spicy herb. Each Makou Jar is handmade and has its own unique characteristics based on its lifetime of use.
